       ‘Tales From The Road’

From the 60’s to the 00’s through three incarnations; One; a musical trip with a member of The Bluebells, ‘The Sweet Heart’s of the Apollo’ 60’s R&B girl group.  Two, a member of Labelle the 70’s Gospel Funksters who spawned the iconic hit ‘Lady Marmalade’.  Three, the Solo artist, Nona Hendryx whos’ career includes the Grammy nominated ‘Rock This House’ of the 80’s.  Including songs from her film scores, TV & musicals in the 90’s to 2009.  Four decades of music, each decade a musical trip unimagined.  An unknown, unprepared & a musically uneducated member of a girl’s group who became the main songwriter for the first African American female Rock Group in the history of music.

The performance will include music & ‘fly on the wall’ stories told by Nona with her band of 7 musicians and singers.  A trip from the chitterling circuit of America’s North & South to The Metropolitan Opera House and the Rock Arena’s of the world with, The Bluebells, Motown & Philadelphia artists, Dick Clark & Band Stand & The British Invasion bands, Touring with The Stones, James Brown, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Labelle, Sly & The Family Stone, funkadelics, Chaka Khan & Rufus, The Who, the Garage, Area, Mud Club, Grace Jones, Madonna, Chic, Divine, Dance music, Big Hair RockTalking Heads, Peter Gabriel, Patti Smith, Divine and more.

Small Touring Band for Clubs & Small Halls Requirements

Shows: 1 to 1 1/2 hours

Musicians: Bass, Drums, Gtr. & Keyboards

Backing Vocals: 2 or 3 depends if my regular keyboard player is available, he sings too.
