Nona Hendryx to Launch New Talk Show About Music, Art and Technology on SiriusXM

“The Nexus” kicks off November 30 on SiriusXM’s Volume channel 10

WHAT: Nona Hendryx will host The Nexus, a new monthly series for SiriusXM. The Nexus features Hendryx, singer and original member of LaBelle (“Lady Marmalade”), discussing the intersection of music, art and technology with special guests including musicians, artists, songwriters and more. This exclusive show for SiriusXM kicks off on Thursday, November 30, on the Volume channel 106, the only 24/7 talk channel dedicated to the conversation of music. The Volume channel features programs hosted by Kurt Loder, Alan Light, Eddie Trunk, John Rzeznik, Scott Ian, Bill Flanagan and more.

WHO: Nona Hendryx, singer and founding member of Labelle, whose smash hit “Lady Marmalade” was an international sensation.

The first guest on The Nexus is artist, musician and writer Laurie Anderson.

Anderson chats with Hendryx about her late husband, Lou Reed, and making music + art.

‘Shine (This Is It)’ is the first single from Soul Clap’s self-titled second album, a project that’s been four years in the making. An uplifting house music anthem, it features legendary vocalist Nona Hendryx and includes remixes from Dimitri From Paris and DJ Rocca aka Erodiscotique.

Nona Hendryx is an original member of the trio Labelle who’s smash single “Lady Marmalade” is a timeless classic. Her solo singles “Transformation” and “Do What You Wanna Do” from the 80’s are equally prolific to her work as a back-up vocalist for a laundry list of legendary acts including Parliament-Funkadelic, Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel. There is magic contained in ‘Shine (This Is It)’ and the strength in Hendryx’s vocal empowers our sprits and moves us on the dancefloor. Midnight Magic’s Morgan Wiley delivers an outstanding keyboard solo and fellow bandmate Jason Disu teams up with Kalí Rodríguez and No Regular Play’s Greg Paulus to form the Soul Clap horn section.

Sunday night after 2 nearly sold out shows at Joe’s Pub, so many people asked me how I chose such an amazingly talented group of singers, musicians, dancer and poet? I could only answer ‘it happened because it was fate’ and I am so grateful to know each of you. My fate to meet each of you at different times and to have the opportunity to witness your artistry, as Joey says, your ‘magic’. Sharing the stage many times with most of you, exploring, playing and creating music. And yes, sooooo much love and laughter. Thank you for making me look and feel so good! Working on getting a tour bus or 2 and taking ‘Parallel Lives’ on the road Spring in 2016!
